Indonesian Agency of Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics (BMKG) at Pekanbaru station detected as much as seven hot spots located in Riau Province, from total 29 hot spots in Sumatra island.

“At 05.00 WIB Terra and Aqua satellite detected as much as 29 hot spots in Sumatra and 7 hot spots located in Riau,” said analyst of BMKG at Pekanbaru station Ariestia Ardhitama in Pekanbar, Wednesday (22/7).,

He explained that the seventh hot spots in the province still concentrated at six regency such as Siak as much as two spots, whereas Bengkalis, Kampar, Pelalawan, Indragiri Hilir and Kuantan Singingi, have one spot each.

The conditions have resulted some part in Riau still covered by smoke from the region itself and from neighbor provinces such as Jambi and South Sumatra.

The 22 hot spots in Sumatra are concentrated in those three provinces as in Jambi which is is detected as much as eight points.
